SALGLAZE SECONDARY GLAZING SYSTEM is a new product to Spain by SALLU PLASTICS. The problems of heat loss in the winter in Spain is totally different to in the UK as most of the houses built in Spain are built to keep the house cool by allowing the heat to escape through floors, walls and windows. Therefore in the winter you need to have an adequate heating system, and adequate rugs to keep the rooms warm. Up to 18% of heat escapes through the windows and window frames. You can reduce this by providing a thermal break between the room and the glass. It is well known that the bigger the air gap between the two the better the heat is retained. By using a sheet of plastic to cover the window frame rather than just the window you are increasing the thermal barrier.

SALGLAZE Secondary Glazing panels are fitted to the inside of existing window frames, and held in place using our specially formulated VELCRO system. This secondary glazing system traps a layer of still air between the pane of glass and the semi rigid plastic panel. This trapped airspace will reduce the rate of convective heat loss, and also act as a baffle to reduce sound transmission. Depending on the specific problems within each home; the airspace will maximise the benefit for ‘Thermal Insulation’ purposes and ‘Acoustic Insulation’, purposes.
These panels are engineered to discreetly fit the inside of existing window frames and are designed not to interfere with the traditional aesthetics. The SALGLAZE Secondary Glazing panel is virtually invisible when fitted; concealed from view on the outside and unobtrusive and discreet on the inside. They are light in weight, making removal of the panels easy for storage, quick and easy, in warmer weather. Once the panel is removed there is little trace of it ever being there in the first place
